Woman Loves her Youthful Neck thanks to Anti-Aging Neck Technology at Maningas Cosmetic Surgery

Nora Ephron Hated Her Neck. We Bet She Would Have Loved this Technology.

In the 2006 book I Feel Bad About My Neck, Nora Ephron writes candidly about the tribulations of aging—specifically, the neck. “There are scrawny necks and fat necks, loose necks, crepey necks, banded necks, wrinkled necks, stringy necks, saggy necks, flabby necks, mottled necks,” she writes of herself and her fellow women friends who she meets for lunch, all of them outfitted in neck-concealing turtlenecks and scarves.

And then she points out what was, at the time, a hard truth: “[S]hort of surgery, there’s not a damn thing you can do about a neck.”

Nora Ephron, we have good news: There’s a brand-new, minimally-invasive procedure that will tighten the aging neck right up, without the downtime from facelift surgery. We want to introduce you to FaceTite, a minimally invasive procedure that effectively tightens skin and dissolves small fat deposits with less downtime:

For all the anti-aging benefits that a well-tuned skincare regimen gets you, most men and women (even those who actually use moisturizer on their necks, too) eventually deal with a sagging, aging neck. We think FaceTite can change that. And we think the writer of You’ve Got Mail and Sleepless in Seattle, with all the pleasure she took in using new technology to help her characters fall in love, would appreciate it as more than a plot device!

What does minimally invasive surgery involve?

Minimally invasive means that a surgery will reliably get you results, but with minimal healing required of your body afterward. In the case of FaceTite, we use an incision so small that you won’t need stitches. You’ll have an easier recovery and a tiny, imperceptible scar.

Plus, FaceTite carries the benefit of a surgical procedure in that it actually works every time. While competing ultrasound technology treatment results need to be touched up over time, most FaceTite patients do not need a second procedure. The skin continues to tighten and firm as your body rebuilds collagen following surgery, with noticeable improvements within the first 2-3 months. Your best results are usually visible after 6 months.

How does FaceTite tighten skin?

We’re glad you asked! The mechanism behind FaceTite is one of the most fascinating of any procedure we offer at our Joplin cosmetic surgery center. The FaceTite device is powered by radiofrequency (RF) energy. RF has been incorporated into numerous skin-tightening technologies, like Morpheus8 microneedling, which we also offer.

But topical use of radiofrequency can only achieve mild skin tightening. The FaceTite device is inserted under the skin during surgery through a very small incision like you’d have for a liposuction procedure, and the second arm of the device sits above the skin. The RF energy generated between the two arms of the device causes collagen to contract, tightening skin immediately and prompting a lasting increase in collagen production. FaceTite also tones underlying fat deposits.

Who is a good candidate for FaceTite neck rejuvenation?

An ideal candidate for FaceTite neck rejuvenation shows signs of aging in the neck, such as sagging skin and fat pockets. Patients may see the loose skin beginning to fold into horizontal wrinkles or vertical bands, or experience a double chin that slopes into their neck. FaceTite’s results are most pronounced in patients with milder skin laxity, or patients who are just beginning to see these signs of aging—and an early FaceTite procedure may help you avoid a full facelift down the line.

Where else on the body can you use RF skin tightening?

RF skin tightening is incredibly versatile and can be used to tighten and firm skin throughout the body. FaceTite is made specifically for the face and neck, but it is only one of a family of RF skin tightening devices. We use BodyTite for skin tightening on larger areas like the abdomen, thighs, and arms. For tightening in small areas like the double chin, bra/armpit rolls, hands, eyelids, and brows, we use the tiny AccuTite handpiece.

Generally speaking, if you need a lift that injectables or fillers can’t provide, but you’re not ready for a surgical lift surgery such as a tummy tuck or a thigh lift, RF skin tightening with AccuTite, FaceTite, and/or BodyTite can be an excellent alternative.

What is recovery like after FaceTite?

After FaceTite surgery, we’ll send you home with a compression garment to wear. You’ll need to take it easy for about a week after surgery, after which you can resume normal activities. Some redness and swelling can continue for up to 2 weeks. For comparison, after a full facelift, patients require a full 2 weeks of rest and 6 weeks avoiding exercise.

Why should I choose FaceTite?

Aside from its versatility, efficiency, and short recovery time compared with surgical lifts, another benefit of FaceTite is that your surgeon monitors your results during surgery. Unlike topical RF treatments, in which results are delayed, the surgeon can sculpt precisely, tailoring the results to your anatomy and desired contours.

This personalized approach is very important in the neck, where fatty deposits, skin laxity, and thinning skin all come into play to different extents for each patient. Your surgeon has nearly as much control over the procedure’s outcome as with a surgical lift, so their skill will help you achieve beautiful results.

FaceTite + Morpheus8 Microneedling = Embrace RF

Ready to commit to rejuvenating your neck? At Maningas Cosmetic Surgery, we love to combine FaceTite with Morpheus8 skin resurfacing, a paired procedure called Embrace RF. The Morpheus8 fractional microneedling treatment evens the texture and tone of your skin, reduces wrinkles, and doubles down on the skin tightening effects of FaceTite. And unlike other similar treatments, it’s safe for all skin tones.
