Having full, plump lips is often considered a sign of good health, beauty and youth. Whether you were born with thin lips or your lips are thinning due to the natural aging process, there are many ways to enhance them. Lip injections using natural or synthetic fillers can keep your lips plump for months at a time. We have several options when it comes to lip fillers that can be used to achieve your desired results.
If any of the following describe you, a lip filler is an option to consider: • Your lips have always been thin and disappear when you smile • As you age, your lips have become thinner and less full • You feel self-conscious about how your lips look • Having fuller lips will help balance out your face • Interested in a non-surgical option and ok with results not being permanent
We offer FDA-approved fillers made of hyaluronic acid—a naturally occurring substance in your skin that helps to add volume and hydration. It’s injected into the lips to instantly restore volume. The look and feel is so natural that people will definitely notice, but no one will know! Results can last up to 12-18 months depending on what product is used.

I cannot not say enough wonderful things about Dr. Maningas and his practice. Everyone is so pleasant. I could not be more happy with the care I received!
Dr. Maningas is a fine person, skilled surgeon, and enjoys helping his patients. He will be a true asset to the community and I look forward to his return to Joplin.
Yes, we almost always use topical numbing to minimize pain during lip injections. If requested, we can also do a dental block. Most fillers contain lidocaine already in them, so this helps make the treatment even more tolerable as it goes along.
Depending on what product is used, lip filler results are seen immediately and can last anywhere from 6 to 12+ months. A lot of our patients, will come in around 8 or 9 months for a “lip refresh” treatment to re-enhance volume.
Swelling is expected and can peak around 24-48 hours post-injection. Bruising is not uncommon, but varies patient to patient. Let our nurse injector know if you are or have been using medications that act as blood thinners, as these can cause excessive bleeding, swelling, and bruising.
